My Yamaha V-Star 650 Classic repainted the brightest Red
I could find, Viper Red. My 2003 V-Star 1100 Classic painted "Don't
Hit Me! Pink." My dog, Maslow, is
my passenger. Maslow loves riding with me and loves all the
attention he gets when we are on the road together. -- Morgen

I am a 53 yr old lady rider, married 35 yrs, and hubby
and I both ride. Well, a few months ago I decided on getting me a new
"baby" . . . her name is Cricket, she is a Yorkshire Terrier
who weighs in at 2 lbs 4 oz, and we LOVE to ride!! I've gotten a Canine
Camper and put on my seat with me . . . we are loving it!
I ride a 2004 Honda 1100 Shadow SABRE, Purple Pearl
Flame, shaft drive, I LOVE IT, and its PURPLE!!! LOL
I rode a Shadow ACE Deluxe for several years, told
hubby I needed a new chain, so we rode up to the nearest Honda store,
got there, he decides I just don't need to worry about a chain, lol,
so we replaced the chain with the new shaft drive 1100, and for my
birthday too! -- Pam

I did it!!
I
graduated to a V-Twin Engine TODAY!
I
thought that I was going to buy a Honda Shadow Aero but,… the fit of the
Yamaha V-Star Custom was too good to be true. When I sat down on her I
fell for her!! This is me and "Stella," which is Italian for

I'm finally getting around to a formal intro
and pics!
This is me on my new 883 custom, and the second pic is my son clowning
on my friends 883 custom.
I'm Jojo, 44 years old and live near Austin,
Texas. I have 729 lifetime miles on my Sporty (which I bought new this
year), so will be classified as a newbie for a long time!
I passed my MSF course with the lowest score
in my class (those u-turns destroyed me), and I'm highly safety
conscious, riding in armor and a full face helmet during even the
hottest days.
My SO rides with me, we bought bikes within
a month of each other. She is had a crash recently (a "cager"
ran a red light and broadsided her in an intersection) and will not be
riding again till her body heals and her bikes fixed.
This has made me even more paranoid, but I
still LOVE riding my sporty!!
Thanks for your time and netspace, I truly
love your site. To me it's the best one out there for women!
Peace on the road -- Jojo

Finally, I'm able to submit two photos introducing me and my amazing
Suzuki SV650 (naked). We've only been together a couple of months but
already the bonding is strong. Her name is Queen-Esther Sojourner
Stringfield! "Queen-Esther" was the first woman I saw riding a
bike when I was five years old. "Sojourner" because she likes to
visit places. "Stringfield" after Bessie
Stringfield, the famed WWII motorcycle dispatch rider. With these
names, how can this bike not have personality to spare?! She's light
weight, flickable, and raring to go at any time. Thanks to this website,
we've learned many new things. I'm a re-entry rider, having returned to
the sport after a more than 20 year absence. -- Sharon from Chicago.

Saturday,
April 22 - Motor Maids from SC, NC and VA gathered for dinner in Calabash,
NC. Mother Nature provided a spectacular show of power by offering a
thunder/lightening show that cancelled the planned ride, but that didn't
stop all of us relaxing, sharing stories, and laughing together! What a
treat it was! I did join the group as they rode out Sunday to go home . .
. nothing like a column of women riders to perk up a day!
That's
Sandy and me, sharing the joy that all women riders understand! -- Petra, VTwin

This is my 2003 Suzuki Volusia in white and grey, which I
love more now than when I got it. I put those saddlebags on myself. The
guy on the Yamaha Venture is my Dad, and the picture is at the Townshend
Dam in Vermont. I passed my road test Thursday, April 13 and now I am
finally a licensed motorcycle rider! I'm so psyched! -- Jennifer on Long

This is me and my Harley Davidson Dyna Low Rider! Well here we are...my
first bike was a 2005 1200 Sportster Custom. I traded it for this purple
beauty. Your site has been wonderful. I have only been riding for about a
year and I am pretty short so I had a hard time making this bike
"fit" me but I had a lot of help from you and your readers of
how to make it work for me. I love this bike! It's a 2005 Dyna Low Rider
(purple pearl w/ green flecks). I am waiting for my new solo seat from Corbin
so I can show off the paint even more. I cant wait! Thanks for your site-I
read it at least once a week sometimes every day-I love it! Have fun
everyone and remember to keep the chrome up and rubber down! Thanks a lot!

It has been awhile since I have written in but I have kept a watchful eye
on the letters sent in though. Anyway, a lot has happened since my first
letter. My hubby has now bought himself a bike, "thank goodness"
!!! He was about 8 years with out one of his own. so I wanted to send in a
picture of the new bike. I can't wait to finally get brave enough to ride
this one and sneak it out for a test ride!!! It is a 1989 HD FLH
Electraglide. - M. Wright

I loved (yes past tense unfortunately) my '01 Honda 750 Shadow ACE.
This bike fit my like a glove and was easy to ride and maneuver. I
accomplished a long time dream and paid $4000 cash for this bike in late
October of last year. I live in Northeast Indiana and fortunately we
had nice weather in November, and some in December and some days in
January and I was able to ride quite a bit (over 500 miles logged).
Riding my bike is the best therapy I have ever found.
Unfortunately I 'put it in storage' in February of this year and two
nights ago theoretically there was short in the wiring under the seat
which combined with high winds caught fire and burned my bike to a crisp.
The good news was we save the barn. The bad news is that I did not
have insurance on it. I am heart broken. But here is the bike
that I once 'had'. I hope someday to be able to get another one. --
Kris

G'day Petra, We took this pic when out on the bikes on Australia Day, at
Stanwell Tops, gateway to the southern beaches and the city of
Wollongong.
Lin (modeling the new Draggin Jeans Kevlar lined camo pants) Terri and
Kevin. Note all the bright colours, told you Aussie riders don't favour
black that much. Girls would have been in the pink or light blue Icon
riding Chaps but it was too hot.
Bikes:
Lin's ZZR 250 Kawasaki.
Terri's speed-kitted Ducati Streetfighter.
Piotr's (my step-son) CBR 900 RR Honda Fireblade.
My BMW, unwashed for several months, refused to pose for photo and
is just visible hiding on the far side. -- Cheers, Kevin

I came home with my new bike on Sunday. "06 Harley Softail
Deluxe. Yes . . . this riding bug has hit me hard!!! Rode all day
and just love this bike. The center of gravity is perfect.
Even though its heavier in weight than my Sportster, it seems to just
glide. Thanks to Stella and her "pat-on-the-backs" it
was a great day . . . and thought of you also and all your words of
encouragement over the past few months too . . . Can't thank you
enough!! . . . Kathy H.

Well, the planned trip to Cape Town has been
done!
The first picture
of me at one of the first petrol stops, I am counting my money. Bike
looks good huh? It was stripped, re-sprayed, and then polished
to within an inch of its 20 year old life! A very nice
Christmas present, wouldn't you agree?
For the first time back on a bike after an
interval of at least 22 years, I did very well. We took it
slowly, taking 3 days to travel the 1,400 kilometers to Cape Town.
The route we followed was the main route to the Cape, and the traffic was
pretty heavy, being the holiday season here. That was not such fun.
On the way home from the Cape, we took another route, and that was much
better - fewer cars and not many trucks at all. We also took 3 days
to get back home.
I found the concentration required when
riding is far more than when driving a car. I was always aware that
some silly ass in a car might decide to stop suddenly, or pull out in
front of me. The last bit when we reached Cape Town, was, for
me, not fun - we caught the four o'clock traffic and that was rather
daunting.
However, I find my confidence has increased
ten-fold, and now when I take the bike out, I am just that much happier on
it.
The second picture was taken one of the beautiful
scenic routes that follows the coast into Cape Town from the north eastern
side.
I must tell you, that it was not the arms
that got tired, or the butt that got sore, but the incredible heat
we encountered. I reckon, with the wind factor, the
temperature rose to about 40 degrees Centigrade. In fact, I
committed the cardinal sin of taking my jacket off - it was just too too
hot!
I also found that there was quite a lot of
interest shown in the 'lady biker'. One woman we met at one of
our stop overs said that she had always wanted to ride, and she was so
impressed with my baptism of fire - Johannesburg to Cape Town!
So, I told her to go for it - follow the dream, one is never too
old.
Then, a fella asked me how old I was, and
that he also wanted to have a toy like mine when he grew up. He
called his wife over and said (all in Afrikaans) that this woman is 51 and
look, she is riding a motorbike!
So, I was quite a talking point at the
petrol stops! The petrol jockeys were also amazed at this
woman on her bike! Oh, the bike did not
miss a beat in all 1,400 kilos. It went like a bird!
The third picture is me on a lonely stretch
of road, after leaving the main route from Cape Town to home
(Johannesburg), without my jacket
because it was just too, too hot! Also, traveling at a sedate
110 km/hour (that is faster that your speed limit of 55 mph). -- Megan
O'Donnell (Henley On Klip, South Africa)

I just wanted to show you a picture of my current ride, a Redneck-Davidson
Skinny Boy Special. Its actually a Chinese engine kit mounted on a
somewhat modified 1985 Schwinn road bike. It actually gets some quizzical
stares from the Harley riders when I'm riding/pushing it in the foot hills
of Colorado, as they often mistake it for a bike, rather than a motorized
bike, and can't figure out how I can coast up hill! (small inclines that
is) I did everything myself but its falling apart now, 1,500 miles on this
fun little ride, probably could get more out of it with a bit of an
overhaul (muffler fell off.), which means it's the perfect time to get a
new bike! -- Ben

Bev from Illinois sent this picture that she got from her daughter . . .
who found it somewhere on MSN . . . it's priceless (but we don't have more
information about the rider, passenger, or bike model).
